Pedigree of the Ri(e)dpath Family
- They area that they are first associated with are lands around the Kelso Abbey, Berwickshire, Scotland. Moving on to the east around Greenlaw, building a house just to the south known as "Angelraw" which is now know as a farm holding. To WALTHAM ABBEY in Essex which is just outside of London after selling the family land holdings. As London at that time stank a bit due to the nonexistence of a sewer system. Which only got started in the middle of 1800's. Then on to WEST HAM, Middlesex but still just outside of London.
- During the 1800's the railway between London and Brighton, Sussex was built. This lead to Brighton becoming the fastest growing town in the whole of the UK between 1850 - 1900. Just the sort of place a bricklayer would move too which is just what my Thomas was!
My Thanks
- This must go to two relative who did a lot of work before me. From 1200 - 1800 by ERNEST GUY RIDPATH and then up to my Great Grandfather, Charles Fredrick, by HERBERT ARTHUR LESLIE RIDPATH.
- So to them a BIG thank you.
The New Lines
